The Constant Gardener

Synopsis

Tessa Quayle, a brilliant and beautiful young social activist, has been found brutally murdered by Lake Turkana in Nairobi. The rumours are that she was faithless, careless, but her husband Justin, a reserved, garden-loving British diplomat, refuses to believe them. As he sets out to discover what really happened to Tessa, he unearths a conspiracy more disturbing, and more deadly, than he could ever have imagined.

Reviews
'This is le Carré with a twist, the Old Master developing new techniques for a new age. ... What is different in this book, however, is the passion'
The Times
'A powerful, moving novel ... essential reading'
The Sunday Telegraph
'Richly detailed, full of righteous fire to offset its desperate prognosis, The Constant Gardener is a very impressive piece of work. It is certainly one of John le Carré's best books'
